As the local and national healthcare landscape continues to grow and expand so does Benefis Health System. The System serves over 15 counties and more than 230,000 residents. Benefis is the largest non-governmental employer in the greater Great Falls area, with more than 2,600 employees. The system's components include:

Community Involvement

Benefis Health System provides millions upon millions of dollars in community benefit every year. This includes charity care, unpaid costs of Medicare/Medicaid, housing for patient families, free health screenings, lectures, support groups and more. Every year Benefis does a detailed community-benefit report.
 
Since its formation in 1998, the Benefis Healthcare Foundation has raised more than $26 million in charitable contributions to further Benefis' Mission and improve health care in our community.

Economic Impact

Benefis Health System is a major player in the economy of Great Falls and Cascade county, providing jobs and increasing tax revenue.

Directly and indirectly, Benefis generates 7,445 jobs in Cascade County, or 20 percent of all jobs. Similarly, the $205 million in wages Benefis generates directly and indirectly accounts for 21 percent of income to families in the county. Health care jobs are some of the highest-paid in the Montana economy.

Benefis stimulates indirectly $8 million in county tax revenues.
