Welcome to Benefis Health System. We are excited about your interest in our volunteer program.

As a volunteer, you will provide special services to both our patients and staff. By volunteering, you will enjoy meeting new people, feeling the satisfaction of helping others, and providing a valuable service to the hospital.

Where Can I Volunteer?

Volunteers serve in a variety of areas. Volunteering will give you the rare opportunity to serve in an area that best matches your needs and interests. Some people like to put their special talents to work, while others use volunteering as an opportunity to develop new skills. Whatever skills, talents or interests you have, we can find a volunteer position for you.

Some places volunteers may help:

Baby Hats/Blankets

Volunteers make hats for every newborn baby and blankets for NICU isolets.

Calling Committee

A group of Volunteers use their time to call other volunteers and remind them of upcoming events.

Coffee Cart

Volunteers routinely provide patients, visitors and staff with snacks, refreshments and reading materials from the mobile coffee cart.

General Office Help

Volunteers assist in all areas of the hospital. They answer phones, file, handle mail, and do many other office tasks.

Gift Shops

Volunteers assist visitors and staff as they purchase gifts and other fun items in The Shops at Benefis Health System.

Information Desk/Escort Service

Volunteers meet and greet patients, doctors, vendors and visitors and assist them by providing room numbers, directions, etc. Volunteers also escort non-emergency patients to various hospital departments and rooms, as hospitals can be very confusing places for visitors.

Junior Volunteers

Young volunteers between the ages of 14 and 18 can assist in a variety of areas on both Benefis East and West Campuses.

Mended Hearts

Volunteers provide emotional support for patients and family members being treated for cardiac related illnesses. Mended Hearts volunteers have all experienced heart surgery.

Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy

Volunteers provide assistance to patients and staff through a variety of activities including therapeutic recreation, social activities, art therapy and arts and crafts.

Telephone Line to the Community (TLC)

Volunteers call TLC participants. This is a vital person-to-person link many would not have otherwise.

Volunteers provide tours of Benefis Health System's East and West Campuses.

Volunteer Visitor

Volunteer visitors provide visitation and fulfill some patient requests. They assist with information needs (coffee, magazines, etc.)

Pediatric Partners

Volunteers provide pediatric patients one-on-one attention.
