In response to the increase in the number of patients who arrive at the Emergency Department, Benefis Hospitals has added a “fast-track” process to help ease crowding and waiting times.

ER Minor, as part of our Emergency Department, uses eight patient rooms adjacent to the ER, and is staffed by a family nurse practitioner and a nurse. Typically, patients are treated in the ER Minor process for non-urgent complaints that require medical treatment. In this location, these patients receive the care they need, enabling the ER staff to concentrate on providing care to patients who are acutely ill or who have traumatic injuries. This service reduces waiting times for both areas of the Emergency Department.

The ER Minor program operates 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. in an effort to meet all community needs. For more information about ER Minor, or the Regional Emergency Center, please call 406.455.5200.
