Cancer conference is integral to improving patient care through review of treatment planning and patient outcomes as well as providing education to the care team. A number of physicians who are experts in different specialties review and discuss current standards of care for the medical condition and treatment options of patients.

In reviewing cancer treatment, a cancer conference may include consultative discussions among medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists and radiologists as well as other providers involved in the care of the patient or others with that particular type of cancer.
