Treatment Planning
Our board-certified radiation oncologist, medical physicist, and dosimetrist will use the below tools to create an individualized radiation treatment plan for each patient. Treatments are tailored to you only, ensuring accuracy throughout the duration our your treatment.
Dosimetry
Dosimetry is the accurate measurement of radiation doses. A dosimetrist, therefore, calculates the dose or amount of radiation for treatment and works with both the radiation oncologist and medical physicist to carry out the recommended treatment plan.
CT Virtual Simulation
Using a CT scanner, Sletten Cancer Institute radiation oncology team members are able to identify a tumor, visualize the soft tissue and organs in relation to the tumor's location to better plan treatment positions and the delivery of radiation beams.
3D Treatment Planning
A 3-dimensional image of a patient's anatomy allows radiation oncology team members to measure the amount and direction of the radiation beam needed to treat the tumor. This type of planning tool is used for all types of conventional radiation treatments, including IMRT and Cyberknife®.
