At Benefis, our commitment to health starts with each patient and extends to our community. We believe in being a valuable community partner and supporting other local organizations and causes that help our patients live healthier lives.
In fiscal year 2018, Benefis Health System provided over $20 million in community benefit programs and services.
More than $480,000 supported the following efforts:
- Flu shots, health screenings, and first aid
- Flu shot clinics offered to the community
- Special Olympics MedFest
- Spring Fling Hoop Thing first aid
- Ice Breaker Road Race first aid
- PRCA Rodeo first aid
- Transportation for patients who cannot afford to pay
- Northern Transit Interlocal - patient transportation from the Hi-line
More than $1.3 million supported the following efforts:
- Financial support to nonprofit community groups
- Local school programs
- Great Falls Public Schools – CPR manikins and trauma kits
- Montana School for the Deaf and Blind – magnifiers for low vision kids
- Great Falls High School and CMR – Project Graduation
- Great Falls Rescue Mission – medical supplies and chairlift
- Great Falls Community Food Bank – Backpack4kids program
- American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk
- Great Falls Children’s Receiving Home
- Junior League of Great Falls
- Boys and Girls Club of Cascade County
- Alliance For Youth
- Great Falls YWCA
- Family Connections
More than $133,000 supported the following efforts:
- Clinical Research
- Community Health Research
More than $112,000 supported the following efforts:
- Great Falls College MSU Nursing Program
- Perinatal-Neonatal Outreach Education
- Education and training programs
- Emergency Medical Responder Course for surrounding communities
- Ambulance Training
- Emergency Preparedness Training
More than $18 million supported the following:
- Charity Care provided to patients without any payment
- Subsidized health services provided to patients with minimal reimbursement
- Behavioral health services
- Certain women’s and children’s services
- Senior care
