Where You Can Turn for the Most Reliable News on the Global Outbreak

Benefis Health System is here to help our community cope with the global novel coronavirus pandemic. There’s no shortage of information available, and some sources are more dependable than others. Here are the top three resources recommended by experts at Benefis Health System.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Find regular updates on the CDC’s dedicated website for COVID-19, including steps to take if you are sick. The What You Should Know section covers topics such as:

  • How the disease spreads.
  • Prevention tactics.
  • Treatment protocols. Answers to frequently asked questions.

The Situation Updates section provides a summary of the virus, tracks cases specific to the United States and locations affected by COVID-19, provides a risk assessment, and explains how the CDC is working to prevent the further spread of the virus.

The website also provides information tailored to different population groups, including community centers, schools and businesses, as well as information for healthcare professionals, travelers, and laboratories. You can also browse news releases distributed by the CDC under the What’s New section.

The Cascade City-County Health Department (CCHDMT)

Following the outbreak of COVID-19 in the U.S., the Cascade County Health Department also created online resources offering information on everything from prevention to the state of things in Montana.

The Montana Department of Human and Health Services (DPHHS)

Montana health officials are closely monitoring the situation. Their latest updates are available on a section of their website that describes what to do if you’re sick and offers information for specific audiences, like travelers and employers.

Benefis Visitor Restrictions

The health and safety of our patients, visitors, employees, and our communities remain top prioritiesy at Benefis Health System. Our hospital and clinic facilities are restricting visitors to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and the following guidelines are now in place:

Hospital (Inpatient) Locations

  • Any patient who is in isolation for presumptive COVID-19 will not be allowed visitors.
  • Visitors who are sick will not be permitted to enter any Benefis location; this is without exception. Any visitor who is coughing or shows other signs of illness will be asked to leave.
