Benefis Provider Honored at Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers Conference

Jessica Boso, NP-C in Benefis Neurology, received the 2024 Nightingale Award from the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses (IOMSN) at the recent Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Nightingale Award provides $5,000 to help fund multiple sclerosis projects and education opportunities. Jessica submitted a three-part project plan to improve MS care and increase early recognition for patients living in Great Falls and the surrounding areas. The plan includes developing outreach materials, providing learning opportunities for neurology nurses, and offering in-home visits for MS patients focused on improved safety and function.

Jessica received the honor in late May at the annual conference, which she attended with Kendra Egan, LPN, also of Benefis Neurology.

"I am honored to receive the Nightingale award from the IOMSN to help improve MS care in Montana," Jessica said. "We have a high prevalence of MS in Montana and early recognition is key to helping prevent further exacerbations and disability. With the advances seen in MS medications, a patient who receives a new diagnosis today typically has a much better prognosis than patients who were diagnosed 20 years ago."
