Daisy Winner Aislynn Love Recognized for ‘Compassion and Outstanding Care’

During one of the most difficult days a family member can fathom, a caregiver can provide a priceless gift. Aislynn Love, RN, provided comfort and care to her patient and his entire family on the night of his passing.

Aislynn is our first Daisy Award winner of 2024 and March’s Benefis Best. The family had this to say in their nomination letter:

In my father’s last hours on this earth, Aislynn took care of not only him but my whole family as we stayed that difficult night with him. She treated him with dignity and respect and knew just the right amount of humor to add to the heavy situation. My tired children were shown to a family room, which provided a break from the long night, and the Linus Project gave them blankets for comfort. My family and I will forever be grateful for her compassion and outstanding care.

Aislynn works in the Emergency Department and has been with Benefis for two years. She was visibly taken aback by the crowd of co-workers, family members, and members of leadership who gathered to celebrate her achievements.

Emergency Department Manager Scott Schandelson wrote the following in his Benefis Best nomination letter:

Aislynn was introduced to our department through a fellow student who also worked in our department. From the first meeting, it was clear that she knew who she would be as a nurse. She knew what she could offer, and she was humble about it. She had a quiet confidence that also spread compassion. It’s not surprising that through a family’s most difficult day, Aislynn was recognized as a solid and compassionate caregiver. In addition to working with our ED, she is also an active military member who has been serving her country through college and into her profession.

Aislynn exemplifies what we want here at Benefis, and specifically in the Emergency Department. In a crowd of very strong and capable young nurses, Aislynn represents her profession and Benefis well.
