Daisy Winner Lauren Bacon 'Clearly Dedicated to Patients and Their Families'

Lauren Bacon, RN, is a nurse on the Progressive Care Vascular Unit (PCVU).

Lauren is our fourth and final Daisy Award winner of 2024.

She was nominated by the family of a patient who experienced a stroke after having surgery. The family expressed their appreciation for the time Lauren took to answer their questions and connect them with resources during an uncertain time, all while providing excellent care for their family member and her other patients.

"She instilled confidence in us with her competence," they wrote in the nomination letter.

"Lauren is clearly dedicated to her patients and their families. ... Lauren's level of care for her patients demonstrates what the Daisy Award is all about. Lauren provided extraordinary care via her clinical knowledge of the complex medical situation with compassion that came from the heart. Lauren is a phenomenal RN!"

Nikki Walsh, RN, manager of PCVU, wrote the following about Lauren:

"Lauren is the kind of nurse we all hope to have if we were ever in the hospital. To her, patients are never just a diagnosis or a room number — they are individuals in need of not only her expertise and nursing skills but also her empathy and compassion. Watching Lauren interact with her patients is truly inspiring — it’s never rushed or transactional. Instead, you’ll often hear laughter and lighthearted banter coming from her patients’ rooms as she takes the time to connect with them and their families.

These qualities are just a glimpse of the many reasons Lauren shines as an exceptional nurse. It has been an honor to witness and be a part of Lauren's inspiring career journey."
