Spotlight Report Provides A Look Back at 2024

By rutted wagon tracks, steamboat, horseback, and foot, the people who built what became Benefis Health System and the folks they cared for made their way to a young Great Falls.

They set for us a path of community, selfless services, and faith in the future that continues to guide us.

You may know us as the regional hospital where a Mercy Flight helicopter and crew brought your neighbor after an accident on the farm, the birth center where you welcomed your baby into the world, the cardiologist’s office where you worked out a plan for heart health after a high-tech surgery, or the tranquil garden at Peace Hospice where you remember a loved one.

We are humbled by the trust people place in us for the biggest moments of their lives. Even as we expand our reach, we are proud to be based in Great Falls, Mont. as an independent, locally controlled health system.

Benefis includes two main campuses in Great Falls, senior care services, home health, a medical supplies business, a supporting foundation, two rural medical centers, an expanding footprint in Helena, and an urgent care underway in Lewistown. More than 375 employed providers and 3,400 employees are dedicated to carrying forward the Benefis mission.

2024 was an eventful year with 1,347 babies delivered, 934,467 lab tests performed, and 1.5 million meals served! There were more than 8,000 surgeries, 297,477 outpatient clinic visits, 30,390 Emergency Department visits, and countless lives changed.

For 132 years and counting, we have aimed to improve year over year. Please help by letting us know what we’re doing right and where we can improve.
