Benefis Now Offering Urgent Care in Lewistown!

Benefis started a new era of caring for central Montanans October 2 with the opening of Benefis Lewistown, an urgent care on Main Street.

The location will offer quick, convenient care for the treatment of non-emergency conditions like flu, earaches, minor injuries, and more. It is open seven days a week: 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Benefis Lewistown has eight exam rooms, imaging, and a laboratory with 12 full-time staff and hiring underway for lab and imaging.

Kevin Gurney, DO; Amber Close, FNP; and Rebecca Roche, DNP, are based at Benefis Lewistown.

Rebecca, who has been part of the Lewistown community since 2011, said Benefis Lewistown will provide a much-needed service.

"Healthcare for people who can't make it during normal business hours has been lacking," she said. "There is a lot of excitement around us opening. People recognize the lack of availability here. People are going without care or having to travel to Great Falls."

Weekend, early evening, and walk-in care at Benefis Lewistown fills an important care gap, she said, particularly for working people.

Bob Routledge had his sights set on being the first patient through the doors at the new Benefis Lewistown urgent care location, and at 7 a.m. opening day he did just that.

The 79-year-old Lewistown resident addressed his shoulder pain with Dr. Gurney, who provided him with a plan to follow going forward.

“It was a very good visit,” Bob said. “I think this facility will do well here.”

Benefis has cared for Lewistown patients for years, and as our organization continues to grow across Montana, we are committed to offering those patients the best experience in the most convenient setting possible.

Bob said he appreciates the convenient location on Main Street and quick scheduling options.

“It was nice to get in right away,” he said.

Amber, in Lewistown for nine years, said she's excited that Benefis is willing to adapt to the needs of the community.

"For some, travel is a barrier, not just financially but in time and access to a vehicle. Some simply cannot travel two hours each way," she said. "This is a safety net, and we're bridging a care gap."

"Everything I've heard has been positive. The community is excited," Amber said. "This is an asset, not just from a medical standpoint but from the community standpoint. We have a beautiful facility when you come into town instead of a vacant building. It's very visible, and it's a good first impression."
