Daisy’s Rainbow Cart Toy Program Created to Benefit Pediatric Patients at Benefis Health System

Great Falls resident Lolly Hader recently established a nonprofit program to deliver toys and activities to pediatric patients at Benefis Health System. Lolly hopes this program, called Daisy’s Rainbow Cart, will bring joy to children receiving inpatient treatment at Benefis.

Lolly created Daisy’s Rainbow Cart in honor of her daughter, Daisy, who passed away from a rare disease at just eight years old in October of 2016. Daisy spent many days in the pediatric unit at Benefis before eventually spending nine months at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

While receiving treatment in Seattle, Daisy especially looked forward to their cart of toys, games, art, and activities.

“The items from the activity cart at Seattle Children’s Hospital really helped Daisy pass the time when she was receiving treatment. She loved the packets of modeling clay, painting activities, and many stuffed animals,” recalled Lolly. “I want to pass along this kindness to children in Great Falls. I hope Daisy’s Rainbow Cart will bring smiles and happiness to kids during their stay at Benefis.”

If community members or businesses would like to support Daisy’s Rainbow Cart with monetary donations, gift cards, or by donating new, unopened toys, they may do so by contacting the Benefis Foundation at (406) 455-5840 or foundation@benefis.org.
