Benefis Health System Foundation’s annual fundraising event, Mayfaire, raised more than $650,000 on May 10 and 11 to support the new Benefis Women’s & Children’s Center. This dedicated center will truly change the way women and children in our community access care, and the way they view the care they receive.
“Thank you to all who helped make Mayfaire a great success this year! You are helping to build a state-of-the-art Women’s and Children’s Center that will support the health and well-being of our community’s families for years to come,” said Marilyn Parker, Chief Operating Officer for Benefis Health System Foundation. “The new center will be so much more than just a building; it will be a place for care and comfort in an exceptional environment.”
Plans are being developed to build the center on the 2600 block of 10th Avenue South in Great Falls, directly adjacent to the hospital on Benefis East Campus, with the goal to break ground and begin construction in 2020.
Each year, Mayfaire raises funds through a charity golf tournament at Meadow Lark Country Club and an evening gala at the Mansfield Convention Center to benefit a specific cause that enhances healthcare services at Benefis. Over the past 20 years, Mayfaire has raised more than $5 million for improvements and special services that benefit the Northcentral Montana community.
“We are so grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and donors who supported Mayfaire this year. Because of their commitment, the vision for a dedicated Women’s and Children’s Center is one step closer to reality,” said Kelly Michel, Senior Director of Development for Benefis Health System Foundation. “We also thank all the dedicated volunteers who put their heart and soul into the event. They truly make Mayfaire possible.”
More than 60 area businesses supported Mayfaire this year, with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana and Wells Fargo at paramount-level support. Other lead supporters included Sletten Companies, General Distributing Company, Guy Tabacco Construction Company, and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP.
The Mayfaire net revenue was raised through the support of these and other businesses, plus live and silent auctions, and a special appeal. The Surf City Allstars provided entertainment at the gala.
