Help make a family’s journey easier to bear.

During this giving season, donate to the Angel Fund and help sick children in our community.

Hundreds of children in our own community suffer from catastrophic illnesses every year. Many are forced to travel out of town—often on very short notice—to get the specialized medical care they desperately need. The Benefis Health System Foundation’s Angel Fund is there to help.

Since 1997, the Angel Fund has helped families with the tremendous financial strain of caring for a seriously ill child.

It helps cover the costs of travel and lodging when the child’s treatment takes the family out of northcentral Montana and far from home.

More than 1,200 children in our community have been helped by the Angel Fund since the program was established 21 years ago.

There really aren’t words that accurately convey how thankful we are to the donors for providing this assistance. It was a boost of encouragement when we needed it most. This is truly a wonderful program that shines a light when it feels like there isn’t one. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We need your ongoing support to continue providing this vital assistance to children and their families.

Please donate to the Angel Fund today. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help local families care for their sick child.

When Jordan was just 11 years old, he was diagnosed with pineal germinoma, a germ cell tumor in his brain. Thanks to the Angel Fund, Jordan’s family has been with him every step of the way—more than five years of surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and follow-up tests and appointments in Seattle. Jordan is now 16 years old, healthy, and cancer free.

Baby Colt

After spending 47 days in the Benefis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), premature baby Colt was finally released from the hospital. But only three days passed before he was back in the Benefis Emergency Department. Colt was experiencing severe health problems and was flown to Spokane to receive advanced treatment. Fortunately, it was a treatable milk protein allergy. Colt is now healthy and doing wonderfully.

“The emergency trip to Spokane was very unexpected. I didn’t even have a change of clothes, but we had to get on the plane immediately. It was such a relief to receive that gift from the Angel Fund.” – Colt’s mom, Davin Buffington

The Angel Fund was truly a godsend. We desperately needed financial assistance to help defray the cost of travel and motel stays from our hometown to Seattle Children’s Hospital. The gift took away a tremendous amount of stress and allowed us to focus on my daughter’s medical needs and care. Thank you, dear angels. You are a blessing we will never forget.
