David Brost is a physician assistant (PA) with special training in hematology and oncology. As a former United States Navy physician assistant, David has experienced treating a wide variety of patients in both military and civilian health care facilities.

During consultation, David urges his patients to ask questions and bring up anything that may be on their mind. “Don’t be afraid to share a concern or problem,” he says. “If we don’t know about a concern, we can’t work through a solution.”

David believes that a team approach to patient care is most effective for everyone involved. “I hope to be able to truly listen to my patients, to discuss problems in easy-to-understand terms, and to arrive at solutions together,” he says.

An eastern Montana native, David was inspired to go into the health care field by his mother, who was a volunteer emergency medical technician (EMT).

“She also traveled across the state of Montana training EMTs,” he explains. “As a child, I would travel the state with her and often ended up being a triage patient in the EMT training exercises – make-up and all!” Volunteering alongside his mother from a young age and meeting all sorts of people in the health care field led David to become a physician assistant.
