Introduction

Dr. Michael D. Eisenhauer is a cardiologist who specializes in interventional cardiology, vascular medicine, general cardiology, and internal medicine. Dr. Eisenhauer takes a highly collaborative approach to care, working closely with referring health care providers to ensure that his patients’ needs and desires are compassionately prioritized.

Beyond providing cardiology care, Dr. Eisenhauer enjoys working closely with patients and families at a personal level. “Guiding patients and families through what is, by definition, a very stressful piece of their lives when a loved one is dealing with serious or potentially life-threatening injury or illness” is what Dr. Eisenhauer says he enjoys most about his work.

Dr. Eisenhauer is a retired colonel in the US Army, after a 24-year career. While in the Army, he served as the deputy force surgeon and chief of Clinical/Medical Operations for the Iraqi theater of war, as well as coordinated health care and policy for 134,000 combatants from four countries and seven allied embassies.

Dr. Eisenhauer first became excited about the health care field when he was learning first aid, safety, and emergency preparedness in Boy Scouts. The Scouts were a major influence in his life for many years. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a teenager and served at the local and regional levels of the organization as an adult.
