Introduction

Dr. Aaron Flanagan specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He treats a broad range of conditions – everything from an acutely injured ankle to complete quadriplegia.

“The most enjoyable thing about my career is watching patients become more functional despite ongoing afflictions,” he says. Dr. Flanagan believes that it’s possible to remain hopeful and open-minded while maintaining an attitude of acceptance. He often tells his patients, “It’s always OK to hope for the best, and we’ll continue to work with what we’ve got.”

The goal for Dr. Flanagan is always to “improve function.” He takes a holistic approach that requires him to understand as much as possible about his individual patients. He takes physical, social, environmental, and occupational factors into consideration to provide the most personalized and effective care possible.

His fascination with science and the biomechanics of the human body combined with his desire to help people heal is what led Dr. Flanagan to become go into his field. He enjoys the challenge that comes with treating such a wide variety of conditions each day.

Outside his practice, Dr. Flanagan enjoys the vast outdoor opportunities that Montana offers, including hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, and photography, especially with his family and dog. He also recently took up karate for fitness and fun.
