Introduction

Dr. Jim Hinde is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who helps bridge the gap for his patients between their lives before injuries or diseases and their current statuses.

“I set a high bar for myself to develop treatment plans for patients that will work,” he says. “I also have high expectations that my patients will commit 110 percent to their own recovery work. That combination results in a team that achieves great success – and great fun!”

He specializes in electromyography and nerve conduction velocity studies, which help diagnose diseases that can cause weakness, pain, numbness, and loss of function. Dr. Hinde also works closely with patients in the hospital who have recently suffered strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, traumas, or other medical conditions that impact their functional capacity.

Dr. Hinde became a doctor thanks to a lifelong fascination with biology, chemistry, and physics – but also humanities.

“The study of medicine affords a great opportunity to apply a knowledge of science to help individuals and communities. The personal interaction with people of different backgrounds and cultures is an enlightening bonus,” he adds.

Born and raised in Bronx, New York to a family of urbanites, Dr. Hinde couldn’t resist the call of the great outdoors. One of the primary reasons he chose to make a home in Montana was the opportunity to hunt, fish, and windsurf all on the same day he worked. Dr. Hinde also enjoys traveling and has visited many continents in pursuit of these interests.
