Introduction
Tanya McHatton is a licensed addiction counselor dedicated to helping her patients develop positive solutions to difficult situations. Compassion, kindness, and empathy are foundations of her practice.
Tanya completes evaluations for multiple treatment programs and behavioral health units, helping patients develop the best care strategy for their unique needs.
“I believe everyone deserves to have a good life,” she says, “no matter what struggles they are facing with addiction.”
Tanya is passionate about separating the person from their addiction. She says that many patients with substance-use disorders have both mental and physical symptoms to overcome.
Listening to and helping others with their problems comes naturally to Tanya, so she entered college looking for the right career in the counseling field. She credits her first professional placement at an inpatient treatment facility as the “aha moment” that helped her decide to focus on addiction counseling.
Outside her practice, Tanya enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with her extended family and friends.
