Introduction
Mary Marsh is a licensed addiction counselor who is working toward her certification as a licensed clinical professional counselor. Mary treats patients with substance-use disorders and other mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.
Mary works to provide a comfortable, therapeutic environment by developing personal connections, establishing boundaries, and respecting patient privacy. “We guide and support by helping patients fins their internal motivation for change,” she says.
Mary encourages her patients to advocate for themselves even after experiencing a setback. “We all make mistakes,” she says. “That’s how we learn.”
The need for addiction services inspired Mary to become a counselor more than a decade ago. Since then, she has been inspired by the “aha moments” her patients experience every day.
Outside her practice, Mary enjoys spending time with her family, especially outside. Camping trips and barbecues are two of her favorite activities, along with coaching volleyball.
