Introduction
Lauren Dunne is a marriage and family therapist in outpatient behavioral health who specializes in helping people with family and relationship struggles. She places a high value on inclusivity and embracing a patient’s way of life without judgment.
Lauren says she likes to be spontaneous but knows the vital role routines play in mental and emotional health. She teaches her patients to develop flexible routines that can adapt to multiple situations. “I believe in creating your wellness toolbox to bring everywhere you go,” she says.
Mindfulness and self-actualization are important components of Lauren’s practice. She also teaches yoga and finds breathwork helpful when developing self-care and coping strategies with patients. She strives to share her positive outlook. “I believe we can do anything we put our minds to,” she adds.
The drive to care for others runs deep in Lauren’s family. Her grandmother was a social worker, and Lauren would accompany her on volunteer trips.
Lauren loves to travel. In fact, she spent five years living in Vietnam. She also enjoys outdoor activities, especially running and whitewater rafting.
