Introduction
Dr. Jeff Young is an anesthesiologist who provides care for patients during some of the most serious moments in their lives. He knows having surgery is a significant and often life-saving decision.
“If I can help patients or their families feel even the tiniest amount of comfort and peace throughout it all, I will count that as a win,” he says. “Anesthesia is a perfect blend of real-time puzzles and procedures. Most anything anesthesiologists do cause minute-to-minute changes in our patients, and that is a very rewarding feeling.”
Dr. Young was drawn to anesthesiology when he was a young father. His 4-year-old son needed a procedure that would be performed under anesthesia. It was unknown territory, but the anesthesiologist was kind and considerate, sensing what each member of the family needed that day. Many years later, neck deep in the grind of medical school, Dr. Young knew anesthesiology was the specialty for him.
“I wanted to be for patients, parents, and families what that physician was for us that day so long ago,” he adds.
In his free time, Dr. Young and his wife, Andrea, are busy raising four vibrant children. He loves delving into new hobbies, sports, and interests with his family. Personally, he loves soccer, basketball, wakeboarding, and snowboarding, though his kids constantly remind him that he is “not as young as he used to be.”
Originally from southeastern Idaho, Dr. Young is thrilled to return to the snow-capped Rocky Mountains he loved in his youth. He and his family recently moved to Great Falls after completing his medical education and training in the Midwest.
