Introduction
Dr. Kimberly Atianzar is a cardiologist who specializes in interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, and advanced cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Atianzar is the first Benefis provider to perform left atrial appendage closures with the Watchman device.
Training during the development of a new procedure sparked her passion for cardiology, and Dr. Atianzar was inspired to learn about every aspect of her specialty.
“The heart is tied to everything,” she says. “For some of my patients, the procedure I perform is a last resort.”
Transparency and thorough communication with patients and their family members is vital for Dr. Atianzar.
“They have to go in with full trust in me and what I do,” she explains. “I never take for granted that I will treat this patient for a short time, but they are tied to their loved ones forever.”
In her free time, Dr. Atianzar values spending time with her family. She loves to watch college football and movies. She also enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and is a huge Disney fan. Dr. Atianzar is also trained in the art of hula dancing.
