Introduction

Dr. A. Christine Zender-Princeton is an occupational and environmental medicine physician who treats patients with work-related injuries and conditions. She also has experience and training in disaster medicine.

Dr. Zender-Princeton was motivated by her own medical journey. Undergoing open heart surgery in college inspired her to change directions and pursue medicine.

Patient advocacy is at the forefront of Dr. Zender-Princeton’s practice. She customizes a care management plan for each individual patient that considers their physical health, mental well-being, and potential barriers that might prevent them from successfully returning to work.

“I can’t just manage their illness, I have to understand their world,” she says. “I need to understand their experience, and sometimes that means shadowing them at work to see what factors impact their health.”

In her free time, Dr. Zender-Princeton enjoys discovering new hobbies with her family. She is especially fond of artistic pursuits like playing the harp and piano, singing, painting, and knitting. She also practices martial arts and studies multiple languages, including American Sign Language.
