Introduction
Dr. Vera Turbessi is a postdoctoral resident who provides outpatient behavioral health services. Dr. Turbessi works with clients experiencing a variety of mental health conditions in both individual and group settings. She has experience working with veterans, students, and couples. Her clinical passion is trauma work and group therapy.
One of the things Dr. Turbessi loves about being a therapist is the opportunity to see the strength and resilience her patients possess and empower them to be their authentic selves.
Dr. Turbessi describes herself as a relational therapist. She sees therapy as a place to better understand ourselves, connect with our emotions in a helpful way, challenge unhelpful narratives, and build a life worth living.
“I believe good client care is focused on the patient,” she says. “If we need to sit in sadness together for a bit, we do, and then we identify the hurdles we need to clear to move forward.”
In her free time, Dr. Turbessi is an outdoorsy person, but she is still searching for her winter sport. She also enjoys running and hiking with her dog.
