Introduction
Rette Olsen is a family nurse practitioner who cares for patients of all ages. She has seven years of experience as a critical care registered nurse along with volunteer experience as a medical counselor for children with Type 1 diabetes.
Rette’s interest in medicine was inspired by her mother and grandmother, who were both nurses. Her first role as a caregiver was as a hospital volunteer.
In her practice, Rette strives to build collaborative relationships with her patients based on good, clear communication.
“I want them to feel like it’s a conversation,” she says. “I want them to feel that they were heard and that I answered their questions without it sounding like a lecture. I want them to feel comfortable coming back to see me through all of life’s stages.”
Outside of work, Rette enjoys traveling, cooking, and getting lost in a good book or compelling movie. She comes from a big family and loves to attend their events and activities. Rette also loves animals — she grew up with dogs and horses and just opened her own home to a rescue kitten.
