Introduction
Maria Kelly is an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner who cares for patients during a hospital stay. She has experience providing care across multiple specialties, including urgent care, primary care, emergency medicine, and patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
Maria’s grandmother inspired her interest in medicine and her drive to care for patients as if they were loved ones. She witnessed the positive impact a compassionate and caring provider has on their patients and vowed to do the same in her own practice of medicine.
Advocating for her patients is important to Maria. She strives to listen to her patients, answer all of their questions, and stay up to date on evidence-based practices, all while respecting her patients’ religious or cultural beliefs.
“I take pride in caring for my patients, advocating for them and making sure they understand their care throughout their hospital stay,” she says.
In her free time, Maria enjoys spending time with family, volunteering at local shelters, cooking, and being outdoors.
