Introduction
Dr. Omer Usman is a physician who cares for hospitalized patients. He is driven by the multi-systemic nature of internal medicine and is proud to be part of the team of dedicated hospital medicine physicians at Benefis.
Dr. Usman’s medical career was inspired by the loss of a family member to undiagnosed illness in his home country of Pakistan. Along with his clinical training, he served in medical research roles after graduating from medical school and during his internal medicine residency in Texas.
Dr. Usman is dedicated to providing proactive care and anticipating the needs of his patients.
“My patients and their loved ones can ask me as many questions as they’d like,” he says. “I listen carefully to what my patients have to say, and we work together to make a good plan to follow after they are discharged.”
When he is not at the hospital, Dr. Usman enjoys watching movies, videography, and playing the darbuka, a Middle Eastern hand drum.
