Introduction
Dr. Teagan Hiles is an internal medicine physician who cares for hospitalized patients. She spent her third and fourth years of medical school at Benefis for clinical rotations. During this time, she received the David and Tanya Cameron Medical Education Endowment Scholarship. She is thrilled to return to Great Falls and serve the community that welcomed her as a student and now as a hospitalist.
Dr. Hiles’ interest in science was inspired by her grandmother, a science teacher. She decided to pursue a career in medicine during her undergraduate studies. During her residency in Omaha, Nebraska, she learned to practice evidence-based medicine while prioritizing clear communication with patients. She strives to ensure that she, her patients, their families, and clinical staff are all on the same page.
“I always keep the human side of medicine in mind,” she says. “A patient’s autonomy and participation in the decision-making process are important during a hospital stay.”
Dr. Hiles is also looking forward to contributing to the educational experience of medical students and resident physicians at Benefis.
In her free time, Dr. Hiles is excited to reconnect with friends she made during her time in Great Falls. She just started roller skating and also enjoys trips to the library and dining at her favorite local restaurants.
