Introduction

Dr. William Krause is a board-certified pulmonologist who provides outpatient care for patients in Great Falls and Helena. He is also board-certified in palliative care and has extensive experience in critical care settings.

Medicine was part of the fabric of Dr. Krause’s upbringing; his father was a family physician, and his mother was a nurse. His interest in pulmonology was inspired by mountain climbing adventures as a young man. Dr Krause was fascinated by how the body operates at high altitude, especially the lungs.

Dr. Krause strives to provide compassionate, collaborative, patient-centered care with a focus on helping his patients improve their quality of life, especially when it comes to exercise capacity.

“We know how important exercise is to improving both physical and mental well-being,” he says. “Overall, the best care I can provide for my patients is care that aligns with their life goals.”

Outside of his practice, Dr. Krause loves to fly fish, especially in Glacier and Yellowstone national parks. He also enjoys hiking, climbing, and backpacking. His winter plans include getting back into skiing.
