Introduction

Tyson Frantz is a physician assistant who specializes in providing care in a rural setting. Tyson enjoys working and living in a small town where he can provide multiple types of medical care in one place, from emergency care to family medicine to inpatient and long-term care.

Tyson was inspired to pursue a career in medicine later in life. He owned and operated long-term care communities for seniors and witnessed the struggle such facilities can have finding primary care options for their residents. Tyson decided to go back to school and focus on practicing medicine in a rural setting.

“Joining the team at a critical access hospital allows me the opportunity to practice a wider scope of medicine,” he says. “I enjoy building relationships with my patients, and I find relationships are easier to come by in a small town.”

Tyson brings an evidence-based approach to his practice, and he values patient satisfaction.

“Patients can expect a smile from me at the start of each visit and thoughtful consideration of all of their health concerns,” he says.

Outside of his practice, Tyson values spending time with his wife and children. Trips in the RV are a family favorite, no matter the length. Tyson grew up in the Western region of the country, and he is looking forward to spending time in the mountains, camping, hiking, and swimming.
