Introduction
Martin Camacho is an acute care nurse practitioner who provides care for patients at the Benefis Heart and Vascular Institute. Martin has experience in clinical roles, teaching positions, and as a hospital administrator. He served as the manager of the Benefis Women’s and Children’s Center before taking the opportunity to return to direct patient care.
Martin developed a passion for medicine while serving in the U.S. Navy as a field medic with the Marine Corps, where he ventured into a career in emergency medicine for over 20 years. In the interim, he also developed an interest in hospital operations and administrative opportunities. Martin combined this experience and traveled the country providing crisis management at multiple medical facilities during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
His time in Great Falls has reinvigorated his passion for medicine, and now Martin is excited to join a team of talented caregivers and build relationships with his patients.
“I continue to be moved by the realization that I have helped someone through something significant,” he says. “Patients turn to us for answers. Putting the pieces together is incredibly fulfilling and meaningful.”
In his free time, Martin enjoys spending time with his fiancée and their Siberian Huskies. He likes to play golf, exercise, watch football, and try new foods. He also considers himself a research “nerd” and makes time to mentor other medical professionals.
