Introduction
Dr. Benjamin Heaton is a physician who provides care for individuals with work-related injuries or medical conditions. He is residency-trained in occupational medicine, holds two board certifications in preventative medicine, and has experience practicing in a variety of settings.
While Dr. Heaton felt called to practice medicine from a young age, he originally had his sights set on orthopedics after being inspired by a surgeon who treated some of his own injuries. However, his experience as a flight surgeon during his time in the U.S. Air Force led to occupational medicine — providing medical care for pilots and overseeing public health on base.
Dr. Heaton’s practice is built on the foundation of good communication between physician and patient, as the best outcomes are achieved when everyone understands the treatment plan.
“The top goal in occupational medicine is to get patients back to what they want and need to do,” he says.
In his free time, Dr. Heaton values time with his family. He is a man of faith, and he also enjoys outdoor activities like snowmobiling and scuba diving.
