Introduction
Dr. Brian Malloy has been a practicing urologist for nearly 20 years. “Although I’m a surgeon and love to operate, I enjoy the personal relationships I get to experience with my patients the most,” he says.
Dr. Malloy believes that patients are most likely to experience the best results when they’re involved in developing their own care plans. He encourages them to bring written lists of symptoms, concerns, and questions to their appointments and invites them to share what their expected outcomes are. Then he partners with his patients to develop personalized care plans.
As a former college athlete, Dr. Malloy first thought about becoming an orthopedic surgeon. However, he realized while working with an influential mentor during medical school that urology was the perfect fit for him.
Outside his medical practice, Dr. Malloy has a full life. As recent “empty-nesters,” he and his wife enjoy time together. He has one son who is a doctor of physical therapy, another son who is studying to be an astro-engineer, and a daughter who is studying to be a lawyer. His hobbies include fly fishing, upland bird hunting, snow skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.
