Introduction

Dr. Bryce McBride is an anesthesiologist who cares for patients who find themselves in an especially vulnerable condition and time in their lives, making sure they are safe during surgeries and procedures.

“You are the constant in a patient’s care before, during, and after,” he explains. “You have to gain their trust in a short amount of time.”

In Dr. McBride’s experience, discussing something outside of a patient’s medical history can usually help provide a little distraction and ease some tension. He also approaches each patient’s care in the same way he would want a member of his family to be treated.

Dr. McBride was inspired to enter the field after watching a friend’s uncle, a pediatric anesthesiologist, treat a high school friend as he recovered from a serious injury. He noted the qualities that made him a great physician: calm, collected, and a confident decision-maker.

“He left quite an impression on me,” Dr. McBride recalled. “During medical school I asked myself, ‘Who do I want to be like?’”

Dr. McBride grew up in Idaho and is excited to show his family the Mountain West region. He enjoys running, lifting weights, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and hunting. He even gave his kids their own elk calls so they could practice before the move to Great Falls.
