Introduction
Charlie Campbell is an experienced certified nurse anesthetist with specialty training in pediatric, cardiothoracic, and high-risk obstetric anesthesia. She also has a contagious positive attitude and is a great listener, so she can sense when patients are scared or anxious.
“It’s an honor to take care of vulnerable patients, and it’s very rewarding when they wake up unaware their surgery is already over – it means their experience was as painless as possible,” she explains.
Surgery is a meaningful choice in someone’s life, and not one they usually forget. “People always remember their surgeries and how they were treated, how they felt. Attention to detail matters,” Charlie says. To this end, Charlie’s thoughtfulness shows up in ways like letting kids decorate their mask or truly listening to how patients are feeling that day.
The more she knows about her patients before surgery, the better. She says, “Patients know themselves best.”
Charlie loves to do anything outdoors. She especially enjoys skiing, hiking, and upland bird hunting with her black Labrador, Jake.
