Introduction
Dr. Emily Grant is a pediatrician who can’t help but smile when she talks about her work. She embraces patients and families with warmth and understanding, and they often become an extension of her own family. “I like to laugh and have a good time,” she says.
She works with families in determining care plans and takes their thoughts and concerns into consideration when offering solutions. “Everyone has a unique starting point,” Dr. Grant explains. “I like to meet my patients and families at their starting point and support them in the changes they’ve made.”
Her special interests in newborn care, childhood obesity, nutrition, vaccines, and disease prevention directly relate to what Dr. Grant enjoys the most about her work. “I love the uplifting outlook kids exude and I love families,” she expresses. “I also like the concept of preventing illness to keep kids from getting sick in the first place.”
While her primary focus is on her young patients, Dr. Grant acknowledges that kids’ health is often linked to the well-being of their caretakers.
“Nobody is perfect. Everyone is doing their best,” she empathizes. “I encourage parents to take care of themselves, so they can take good care of their kids.”
Outside of work, Dr. Grant stays active with her family and enjoys off-roading, camping, fishing, baking with her kids, and playing with her dogs.
