Introduction
Jamie Taylor is an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner who provides care for patients who are hospitalized. Jamie is passionate about tailoring her care strategy to meet the unique needs of each patient.
“It’s important to really listen to what the patient needs and coordinate that for them,” she says. “It’s about being a steward for that patient. You’re really linking arms with them and finding the best way forward.”
In addition to her previous experience in hospital medicine, Jamie earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and worked as a case manager. This one-on-one patient contact inspired her to pursue her advanced nursing degree.
Jamie prides herself in staying up to date on the latest medical recommendations and publications.
“There is always something new to learn and apply,” she says. “There are always new methods developing.”
Outside of the hospital, Jamie enjoys outdoor activities and plans to take up birding with her husband. Her other interests include hiking, reading, listening to music, and spending time with her dogs and cats.
