Introduction
Dr. Jared Hooks is an anesthesiologist who provides care for patients undergoing surgery and other medical procedures. It is important to Dr. Hooks that patients feel safe in his care.
In fact, he was inspired to pursue his specialty by the anesthesiologist who cared for his father during open heart surgery. Even at a young age, Dr. Hooks was taken by the physician’s ability to calm everyone in the room before the procedure and his method of handling strong emotions while providing information to his patient and worried loved ones.
“I take as much time as I need to talk to the patient, hoping they will have the same type of interaction with me,” he says. “It can be one of the most stressful moments of their lives.”
Outside of work, Dr. Hooks enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and hiking. He also values time with family.
