Introduction
Dr. Joseph Ghahari is an anesthesiologist who strives to be a highly professional yet approachable partner in health.
“I love being able to deliver great medicine while still striving to be a considerate, down-to-earth person,” he says. “I also take the science behind what we do seriously and I keep up with the latest developments.”
Dr. Ghahari began considering a career in medicine when he was a teenager. “My inspiration began during my senior year of high school after taking my only AP class, Anatomy and Physiology,” he remembers. “I was interested and excited about medicine and decided to take pre-medicine courses in undergrad. During medical school, I enjoyed all of my surgical rotations, but none of them as much as anesthesia.”
His advice to patients is to take a proactive role in their own care. “Always trust your physicians, but also question them so that you understand all aspects of your care,” he says. “Also, be a good patient when discharged home, including doing rehabilitation, taking prescribed medications, and going to follow-ups. We want to keep you healthy.”
In his downtime, Dr. Ghahari enjoys fishing, hunting, skiing, and hiking. He also loves spending time with his two young daughters.
