Introduction
Maddie Johnson is a physician assistant who provides care to Benefis employees and their families at the Benefis Health Plan Clinic. Maddie has experience working in family medicine and walk-in settings, where she enjoyed the team-based approach to caring for patients experiencing a wide range of medical conditions.
Maddie was inspired to pursue medicine by her mother, who worked in the lab at Benefis, and the care teams who helped her heal from her own orthopedic injuries. She has experience as an EMT and volunteered with the Red Cross on a military base in Japan, where she jumped in to help wherever she was needed.
“I work to safely take care of everyone with their personal needs in mind,” she says. “They’re trusting their care to me, so I want them to feel comfortable and empowered to be part of the decision-making process I try to educate patients during their visit so they can effectively follow through.”
In her free time, Maddie enjoys camping, golfing, skiing, and learning the ins and outs of pickleball. She stays busy with her child’s athletic activities and loves to watch football — especially Montana State University games.
