Introduction
Dr. Marcella Barker is a family medicine physician who also specializes in urgent care. She’s especially interested in preventive medicine and women’s health.
“I really enjoy helping people learn more about their health and about how to prevent or better manage disease processes,” she says.
Dr. Barker was inspired to pursue medicine by her local physician, whom she describes as a role model since childhood. She also aspired to a career that would allow her to remain in her beloved home state of Montana.
As a family physician, Dr. Barker enjoys caring for people with a broad range of health conditions. She values getting to know them on a more personal level. “This often provides insight into how they view or manage their illness or injury,” she says.
Dr. Barker is familiar with the health challenges of all age groups. She believes that educating yourself about your condition is one of the most important health strategies.
When she isn’t helping patients, Dr. Barker enjoys outdoor activities in the Montana landscape, such as sport climbing and skiing.
