Introduction
Dr. Matthew Newsted is an emergency medicine physician who strives to create the most comfortable environment for his patients. He often introduces himself as simply “Matt” and works to get to know his patients on a personal level in addition to diagnosing their illnesses and treating their injuries.
“I enjoy helping people when they are at their worst and doing my part to change that – even if I’m only playing a small role at times,” he says.
When Dr. Newsted isn’t in the emergency department, he enjoys spending his time outdoors. “I moved to Montana for the outdoor activities,” he shares. “I spend pretty much every free second hunting, fishing, or snowboarding.”
In 2016, Dr. Newsted was able to combine his passion for the outdoors and caring for others with a trip up the Rio Patuca River in Honduras to provide healthcare to Miskito Indians.
