Introduction
Dr. Michael Jasumback specializes in emergency medicine. He takes pleasure in the ongoing challenges and wide variety of patients he sees while working in the emergency department.
“My greatest joy is taking care of complex, critically-ill patients, applying the best evidence available, and making them well,” he explains.
From a young age, Dr. Jasumback was drawn to a career in medicine because of his love for applied biology. He chose to specialize in emergency medicine specifically because of the unique problem-solving aspect of the specialty. Dr. Jasumback enjoys “applying common sense to complex problems, specifically in emergency medicine, where information is often incomplete.”
The most important advice he would give to any patient would be to know their medications.
In his downtime, Dr. Jasumback is an avid outdoorsman. “From skiing and hiking to kayaking and backpacking, if it happens in the outdoors, I’m interested,” he says.
