Introduction
Dr. Michael Yu provides care for hospital patients.
He believes in taking his time with patients and putting himself in their shoes, with a focus on the humanitarian side of medicine.
Dr. Yu had a family medicine residency at Holy Cross Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, working with patients in one of the most underserved areas of the city and at a Level I trauma center.
“It was an education in keeping your cool when you see wild stuff and trying to serve your patients even if what they need is something small like a glass of water,” he said.
Dr. Yu received his education from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and McMasters University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
He has visited 31 countries, but now he’s ready to explore the West and embrace nature. He likes to fish and hike. He plays the piano and is an associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in his hometown of Toronto.
