Dr. Nicholas Burnham is an emergency medicine physician who specializes in providing ultrasound imaging for patients with acute or critical medical conditions. He values working with others to give the best possible care.

“I believe that patient care is a team approach, and not only with nurses and adjunct staff,” he says, “But also with patients being directly involved in making decisions regarding their care.”

Dr. Burnham was inspired to follow a career in medicine by his grandmother, who was a nurse. “From a young age I found myself intrigued and fascinated by her stories of how she helped people,” he says. “From that time on I dedicated my life to becoming a physician so that I could help people and make a difference in people’s lives the same way my grandmother did.”

For Dr. Burnham, meeting and interacting with a variety people is one of the best parts of his job. He works to empower his patients to take charge of their health. “Take an active role in your care by learning about whatever illness you may have,” he says.

When he isn’t helping patients, Dr. Burnham likes to be outside. “I love the outdoors and prefer to spend as much time as possible hunting, fishing, and golfing.”
