Introduction
Dr. Patrick Thomas is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and knee and shoulder reconstruction. He is also an experienced foot and ankle surgeon.
His approach to care is “conservative measures first, surgery last.”
Dr. Thomas’s favorite part about being a sports medicine doctor is following his patients through a successful treatment plan to recovery. He says that “seeing the improvement in patients’ function and the appreciation they have for what we do” is very rewarding.
A lifelong athlete himself, Dr. Thomas was inspired to pursue a career in medicine due to multiple sports-related injuries he suffered during his athletic career. He was a finalist at the 1980 and 1984 Olympic swimming trials, and has been a snowboarder for over 30 years.
Sports and staying active have always been a big part of his life and he is passionate about helping his patients return to the activities they love.
