Introduction
Dr. Samuel Spanbauer is a pain medicine specialist who believes in the osteopathic philosophy, that is, that all body systems are interrelated and dependent on one another.
“The body is a unit, and the person represents a combination of body, mind, and spirit,” he explains. “The body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and health maintenance.”
What keeps him passionate about his work is being able to help others – an achievement he believes is greatly facilitated by open communication. “Honesty is the key to the physician-patient relationship,” he explains.
From a young age, Dr. Spanbauer was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by his father, who practiced anatomical and clinical pathology for 37 years.
Family continues to be an important component of Dr. Spanbauer’s life. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his children.
