Studies have show that individuals ages 55 and older with significant smoking history have a higher risk of developing lung cancer. Screening saves lives by catching cancers early, when they are easiest to treat.

An initial pre-screen questionaire is required by calling (406) 731-8293. Once approved, you will have a brief consult with a nurse practitioner at Benefis Sletten Cancer Institute (1117 29th Street South), followed by a Low Dose CT Scan at Benefis Hospital Radiology (1101 26th Street South) September 15 and 16. Both are provided free of charge thanks, in part, to a grant from the Whedon Foundation.

Space is limited and priority will be given to individuals without current health insurance and to under-insured individuals. Additional restrictions may apply.

The following individuals may be eligible to participate (all criteria must be met):

  • Individuals between the ages of 55 – 80
  • >30 pack-year smoking history – use the link below to calculate
  • Current smoker or quit within the past 15 years
